According to Kingman...

TOP 10 REASONS TO PLAY SPYDER .50 CALIBER PAINTBALL

We have created a top ten list to show the advantages of the brand new Spyder .50 Caliber paintball line. Without a doubt you will see all the positive points to using this new smaller than traditional size paintball. See for yourself!

1) Air Efficiency – Highly Air Efficient Patent Pending “EKO™” Valve System is capable of up to 3,500 shots from a 20 OZ. and up to 2,000 shots from a 12 OZ. CO2 tank, in contrast to a .68 Caliber marker which averages 800 shots from a 20 OZ. and 600 shots from a 12 OZ. tank.

2) Shipping and Storage
– A 2,000 round case of .50 Caliber paintballs is half the size of a 2,000 round case of .68 Caliber paintballs. The shipping cost is reduced by almost half and the amount of space required for storage can be doubled.

Sunday Paintball Funnies

My sense of humor is off today.  Arkansas has had 80+ inches of rain so far this year breaking a 75 inch record set back in 1882.  Twelve of those 80 inches was on my pro-shop and gun shed floor this week.  That's two floods in less than three months time.  Ahhh, but all is well.  Business as usual this weekend.

Get smart...

I read a story awhile back about a kid that was expelled from school because he brought a paintball gun to school. Turns out it was just the grip frame.

The response was predictable and typical. One side lined up on the zero tolerance side and called for expulsion while the other side wanted to know what the big deal was all about. Obviously the kid couldn't wait for the weekend and brought it in to show it off to his paintball friends (It was probably a UL frame - curses to you, DYE).

What I want to know is why kids bring ANYTHING to school other than their books and homework and bag lunch? Leave the damn IPods, cell phones, magazines, designer rags, gamer software, sunglasses, body metal and hobbies at home. Keep your brains glued to the task at hand.

And before you consider me out of touch or "one of those" let me explain my version of "task at hand".

Get involved. Don't just sit and be spoon fed life by your instructor/teacher/professor. Question. Argue. Applaud. Paraphrase. Create an experience and be a part of it.

Don't let stuff get in the way of getting smart.

Paintball Whatzit?

Awhile back I showed you all a picture of an obscure paintball tool I use at the field and asked you to try and guess what it was for.  I have an equally obscure item pictured here with the same challenge.  It's a specialty item so I don't expect many to have a clue.  Give it a shot. Use the "Contact Me" over on the left and send your guess.  Maybe we will come up with another use for it.

What's this button do...?

I have a work counter in my pro-shop.  It's set up so players or customers can come in and work on their guns while I sit on the other side keeping an eye on them. (The other eye is watching the sales counter.)

Every now and again a gun will be left on the counter (always with a gun plug) either fixed or in the middle of repair and it never, ever fails to amaze me how someone will walk in and pick it up.

Who in their right mind would pick up a gun without knowing something about it?  Maybe I'm wrong.  Maybe I'm over reacting like I sometimes do.  But to pick up a gun, without knowing if it is loaded, or if the safety is on or even working or if maybe parts might fall off ...I don't think so. Heck it might even be attached to a trip wire attached to a nuke.

Don't accuse me of over reacting!

Technology over load...

I have a new phone so I should work on transferring the old account. Someday I’ll figure out some of the functions and maybe set up the voice mail but right now there are pictures I promised a friend I would scan when I got a new scanner that will have to wait because my health monitor is blinking to remind me I need to email my doctor my blood pressure that goes up every time my dish TV goes down when the new “J” model C-130 airplane from the nearby airbase flies across my satellite path. I’ll get to that after I microwave some lunch while downloading some research from Google on Firefox that I might replace with Chrome that I plan to check out but I will do that after I update the T-Square holiday schedule on my web page, that I might be replacing with a Godaddy hosted site when I can figure out how to get Filezilla to work after I change the message on line one of my answering machine. Or is it line two? I’ll have to check my blackberry notes. No, wait. I don’t have a blackberry. I’m going to get one when I figure out what it is and if I need one. Are they still being made?

Forget the microwave. I think I'll just make me a PB&J.

A little pricey but if you and your friends like to play on grandpa's back forty you should all consider chipping in for a chrono. Playing against others when you have no idea how fast they are shooting back at you is, well... stupid.

In case you missed it, The Geo That Never Was was sold on EBay awhile back. It went for a cool 7 grand.  Lots of people are freaked by how much it went for but it's a limited edition/one-of-a-kind piece so it didn't surprise me.

The whole deal reminded me of another limited edition marker.  It didn't sell for near as much but it result in the downfall of a marker manufacturer.  Here's the low down on the gun as described by Paintball.com over on VintageRex:

Ok, so the group before you didn't show up and when I called the group leader he swore he called earlier and left a cancellation message on my (empty) answering machine.  That's not your fault.  But don't show up without a reservation telling me your group of 25 is on the way, then end up with four after I hustled the guys out to get more equipment ready, want to use free play coupons you won at a church raffle and not have the coupons in hand, insist on a private ref and then get pissy cause I forget my manners and don't use please and thank you.

Even I have my limits.

Sorry folks!

CO2 tanks you buy from Wallyworld or Gander Mnt or Dicks or where ever (except for overpriced Rhino Tanks from Lowes)  do not come filled.

Get over it. And stop taking it out on me and my staff!

And for God’s sake...the little brass nut on the side of the valve- it is NOT an on/off knob. It’s a burst disk, designed to blow out when an untrained person over fills your CO2 tank. Don't start cranking on it with a wrench after we fill it!

Oh, and if you are only getting 50 shots from your CO2 tank that was filled somewhere other than at T-Square – again, don’t take it out on me.I’m a certified CO2 tech and my staff are trained by a certified tech.
