Just another day in paradise...

Somebody want to tell me why the failing economy in Greece negatively effects the economy in the US. And what's up with Miley Cyrus. Where are her parents? And did you know the US has the technology to make a kick ass Surface Oil Skimmer but can't because it steps on proprietary resources of "other" countries? Yet when offered foreign help we turned it down. Meanwhile some heiress in Florida has left her dog Conchita 3 million dollars while her son bitches about only getting 1 million.

Oh, and here's a good one from Rhode Island:

Christan Morales says her 8-year-old son, David, was assigned to make a crazy hat for his class at the Tiogue (TEYE'-ohg) School in Coventry. She says they brainstormed and he came up with an idea to glue small plastic Army figures to a camouflage hat with an American flag. But she says David was not allowed to wear the hat for the project. Morales says his teacher called her to say it wasn't appropriate because it had guns, violating a school ban on weapons and toy weapons.

Maybe it's the heat. I don't know what's to blame in Rhode Island or Florida or other places but here in Arkansas it's definitely the heat.

One Way Greece's Economy Affects Us
Greece defaulting = decreases in the value of the Euro currency = increases in the value of the American Dollar (I know, you'd think that's a good thing) = more expensive exports for the US = less exports for the US = hurt our economy. Our gov't is betting on our exports to get rid of our recession.

Miley Cyrus
Typical poptart evolution. "I'm comfortable with my body and that has noting to do with my music." Evidently, having class has nothing to do with it either. Mummy & Daddy probably are still proud, as they enjoy their multi-million dollar fortune, too. They go to church and are bible-toting folk. That makes it ok to stand by as the kiddos explore their "individuality" and coming of age fads, right?

Not Accepting Foreign Help for the BP Oil Spill
To do so would go against rules of the Jones Act, which requires all vessels working in US waters to be American-built and American-crewed. Past presidents have waived this (including Bush during Katrina) but Obama is really in bed with the unions, so no go. Anyone want go to golfing?

Heir-Do-Well Doggies
Those pooches need big bucks to continue being chauffered to their daily spa treatments, darn it! Besides, an heiress has to follow the Leona Helmsley trend.

And as for the patriotic kid...

God Bless the USA. Only behind closed doors, though, please. Wouldn't want to give anyone the wrong idea, eh?
