Paintball's latest victim of the economy...
PaintballX3 reports that a major paintball manufacturer/distributor has laid off it's work force and will be closing the doors in a couple of weeks. They didn't want to say who it is right now but I could hazard a guess. I'll type the name right here>>_______ << in invisible computer ink and when the time comes I'll make it visible so that you can see I was right.
Hard times. Hard times indeed.
UPDATE:
Phew, that was close. I was afraid someone knew something I didn't and T-Square was on the block! So it seems the rumor started when Smart Parts laid of some employees. From there the internet took over and chicken little about had a stroke running around the paintball field. Smart Parts will survive. Anyone who knows Smart Parts' history can tell you that.

Wow, rumors running rampant that it is Smart Parts.....if so....WOW.....
This is hugely unfortunate. I have purchased many products over the years from this company. I have made many mortgage payments selling their products. As a person who makes their living off of paintball, it takes the wind out of my sails to see this company loose out to this crappy economy that is up ended from selfishness and ignorance.
I'm sorry Mick if this affects your income too. All of us in paintball will be affected negatively in one way or another by this loss.
This is truly an end to an era. Any paintball company could be next...
I can not confirm or deny at this point that is is SP.
Well out with it! :)
SP is saying they are not going kaput, they only laid off half their workforce....yet PBX3 said someone is going under. So what is the story?
They still have inventory to sell. Looks like their bank pulled their LOC and will be liquidating their main assets. Their main assets are their CnC machines. It will be hard to come back from this.
I spoke with smart parts today
they did some layoffs (who hasn't) things will be ok with them...for now
I love this company and i love selling its products thru this store
i will support them till the bitter end (or until they get bought out by a bunch of idiot companies like a select few others)
I have to agree with you Ed. I've always had a love/hate relationship toward SP but they make (made?) good stuff.
