The mad ramblings of a mean and grumpy paintball field owner.
Hey! It's "Open Mike Friday!" Drop a NON PAINTBALL comment on anything that might be on your mind. Keep it G or PG rated and work place friendly. I have a sharp censor pencil so don't expect anything else to get through.

what do folks think was the best science film of 2009?
By science film I'm guessing you mean sci-fi. It would have to be StarTrek 11 but I have to admit I have not seen District 9 or Avatar yet.
District 9 was just plain strange. I haven't see Star Trek 11 or Avatar yet. I've heard both are good.
Crotchety Old Fan, what do you think is the best one of '09?
I'm rarely in charge of what we watch, so I end up watching more chick flicks than anything else.
Star Trek exceeded my expectations for a sort of re-doing of a classic series. I thought it was awesomely well-done.
Avatar surprised me as well. I knew there was a lot of hype and had an already-been-done-before-many-times storyline, but it was extremely visually stunning and was very imaginative. (One thing I always love to watch in Sci-Fi flicks is in the background, the little envisioned futuristic gadgets and such, too.)
District 9--we almost shut that off because it seemed so bizarre. It wasn't too bad, though. It was certainly unique.
Last night we watched Gentlemen Broncos. This was probably one of the dumbest movies I've seen all the way through, lol. It had a Napoleon Dynamite-esque feel to it (the retro-ness, small-town isolation) and heavily made fun of cheesy, super sexed-up sci-fi stories and flix. I like to appreciate smaller, low budget movies for their creativity, but this one we thought was just plain too strange and ridiculous.
